Fist things first ...

For those expecting the second part of the lil story I started last journal, I am sorry ... I have lots of bits written down but so far the ideas have not coalessed into something that A. reads well and B. would fit into a journal ... so I have to fill in the blanks and then fit it to a journal ... or I can post it in my art account ... Hell me doing lit ? my school teachers would turn in thir graves .. if they could find then LOL ... This is one of the reasons that this journal has taken a lil while to get up .. I was working on the story....

Sorry for the crappy update to the journal but I will get a fresh one up in a few days .. so please bear with me ...

I really REALLY wanna thank everyone for the wonderful comments on the HDR stock and the Hogwarts/Castle Dracula/Unseen Univercity stock of recent .. I think I am gonna have to go some to really out do myself withthat .. sorta shot myself in my foot LOL .. Also thanks for the wonderful support on the new draft of prints I have posted up ... Some more to come next week too so hold on

As the delightful ^Elandria points out in her journal it is my birthday next Thursday ... No I aint telling you how old unless she tells you how old she is next year so go and ask her LOL .. So we and *Amazonofexeter are heading down to London for a few days (fingers crossed the weather holds out rey if so I hope to have some cool shots (and stock) when I return (as I am sure Lanny will too .. or at least some new props and costume stuff to work with

So I suppose its gonna be .. See you guys in a week have a good tiem without me and do me some stunning artwork.  I really look forward to what you guys come up with

Had a weekend out with Lanny and John doing various bow baced shenanigans ... Yep Last week was the Robin Hood Pageant down at Hawkstone in Shropshire, this time I camped over for 2 nights .. damn I forget how cool it was to camp out under the stars ...  Just wanna say thansk to both Lanny and John and also ALL of the Wolfshead Bowmen for having me and making the weekend so fun

Other than that its my birthday in about 2 weeks so for the heck of it I will be heading London way with Lanny, Lee and John should be coming up to join us there for a few days of drinking, photos, drinking, shopping, drinking and stock oh and did I mention drinking ... I have a few targets in mind of stock locations (see how nice we are to you all we go on holiday to get you stock) I might try and make it over to St Pancrass and try and get the entrance to Platform 13 2/4 for the Potterheads out there just cos I am nice that way, but trust me .. what we have in mind should give some nice stock


Short and sweet I know but I have been sat here trying desperately to think of stuff to put in the journal to make it cool but failed miserably ...

When you have had your fill of scrummy Lannyness then go think on this (more for the peeps in the U.K. than anywhere else but if your bored you know where we will be) On Sat Sept 26th 2009 weather permitting I will be heading for the faboulous ruins of Fountains Abbey up in Yorkshire, I have also been told that Lanny herself will be attempting to get up there ... So if you by any chance are in the area and are at a loose end of what to do then feel free to come and annoy ... I mean say hi ... Its one of the "Fountains at night" things so they turn on the flood lights and stay open longer you know we'd love to see you .. I'll post more news closer to the time so keep an eye on here

In the middle of darkness there is a light

An inky gloom and distant memories swam in his head, a fierce pain threatening to split it in two.  His hands seemed to swim in the greasy puddle in the alleyway where he found himself alone, the distant sounds of the city buzzed away on the edge of his consciousness.  How he got here, at this time, he could not tell.  He tried to stand but the world seemed to violently shift below his feet and his vision sickeningly defocused as he pitched noisily into a pile of detritus at his side.  The pain in his temples and his breath, shallow and raspy, he descended into darkness again.

A low buzz, disembodied voices, filtered into his semi conscious mind. As he tried painfully to open his eyes, they were assaulted by the stark brightness of this new reality.  Fuzzy forms moved purposefully in the clinical world that seared his senses.  He screwed his eyes tightly trying to protect himself from the glaring room, the sharp smell of chemicals, like that of an operating theatre, invaded his nostrils.  His limbs were bound tightly.  He pulled at his constraints trying fruitlessly to free himself.  The muffled voices seemed to buzz closer now as if interested in his activity.  He felt a hand on his shoulder and he reacted with animal-like agility, pulling away as far as his tethers would allow. Staring blankly though closed lids, he tried desperately to free a limb, to escape somehow from where he could not tell. He felt a strong hand grasp at his arm holding him down as something  sharp tore at his skin. His mouth forming silent screams, he tried without success to fight off the unseen assailant.   A warm, numbing sensation seeped through his arm and into his body, the acrid taste of metal flooded into his mouth as his mind slowly clouded to black.

Hard outline slowly formed within his blurred vision, harsh edges delineating his current environment.  Slowly the dark room coalesced into somewhere he could understand; plain, stark, grey concrete, devoid of anything except the black glass window facing him and the chair that he had been securely strapped into.

An electronic voice invaded his head as if the walls, themselves, were talking to him,
“Welcome...”

Silence, then the walls spoke again,
“You have been a hard man to find.”

Thoughts swam as he, vainly, tried to piece the scattered jigsaw of his life together.  Recent events constantly flooded back in to blot out the wisps of his past, as if his mind was trying to forget.
He tried to form word, his mouth sticky and dry,
“Where have I been ?  Who are you ?  Where am I ? ....  Who am I?””


Seconds seemed to stretch into hours until the blackness was cracked by the distorted voice.
“You are the new Black ........”

Sorry, also, for the last few weeks, I had promised that I would do more on the stock front myself, but life (that pesky thing that exists away from the computer) sorta got in the way of stuff.  I have about 4 or 5 packs including a rather nice crypt pack for the club .. I will try and see if this can be available before Christmas but if not then you can feast on Lannys pics and or mine till I get myself sorted.  I have not given up I have just hads a very full diary these last few weeks and with changes in work I don't have as much time in the evenings, but don't worry it will all be coming soon trust me

Decorating is sorta done .. Just white washed the walls to make it look a lil prettier till after Christmas for now need to get the walls skimmed :S but that can all wait till the new year, I have made a start and thats what counts

Have a few projects too for next year so hang in there and I hope to get something going I feel a lot better in myself than I have done for a while, though the way I feel atm I think some of these projects will be put off while I run round in front of the cammy LOL .... Just tell me to stop it and I will get back where I belong, behind it .. PLEASE ! ! ! ! LOL

Also starting to build a new set of priorities for the shopping list there is another re-enactors fayre the end of Feb 2009 so I am going to try and have some cash then to fill in some of the blanks on the knight stuff then with 2009 round the corner we SHALL have a summer this year .. Hell Liverpool castle folly is only up the road so that can be used when Lan is around .. Have some other plans too these are for me to know about atm but I would like one or 2 of them to come off successful this year

I just wanna still wish ALL my friends on da and in real life that I have met through this site, all the artists that use my stock and jut coo at the places we get to see in the task of providing the stock too .. A very merry Christmas .. It’s been a stressful year again but here’s looking to the future with a spring in the step and a light heart

A few good things are happening atm and I hope these good things carry on *lifts a glass of wine* heres to the New Year and to all your hopes and dreams too .. You all know who you are

YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

Firstly I wanna give a huge to for gracing me with her wonderful presence the other weekend thanks hun for the visit, it was fun to put a face to the avi and the voice I had great fun and plan to do it again very soon hope you liked Manchester .. well the pubs you saw aleast LOL

What a poo weekend I have had .. contracting a bloody worm virus/mallware/F**king piece of shoit on thursday night and then having to rebuild my pc AGAIN .. 24 hours to back up my photos and some software then rebuild .. Just have to pluck up the courage to restore my data and photos now :S  This is the 3rd time this year I have had to carry this out so I think I am getting a dab hand at them now .. not that it being part of my job makes it any easier .. I still freak when its my pc thats on the fritz :S One word to the sad loosers out there who write these .. GET A LIFE ok thats 3 words .. but come on have you got nothign better to do with your lives ?

And what with all this it sorta put a block (or tried to any way... and failed) on my decortating .. yeah yeah the domestic chores of CausticStock .. So yeah I whave been stripping the wallpaper on the landing among other things, So a lil stressful and frantic trying to fit a pc re-build into an otherwise hectic weekend.  But its coming  just don't expect to be let in if you ciome knocking on my door :S

Finally too I get my hands on the new remixed version of Blue Stones Worlds apart album ... Tell me this please .. how come when I order a cd via Amazon UK I pay £18 (plus P&P) to get it imported and also wait 4-6 weeks for it to arrive where as I can click on the "new and used" link get one, brand new and sealed in 7 days and for half the price :S .. does the English government not know that with the likes of Amazon and the Net that import duty is near as damn it redundant and pointless ? hell I purchased 3 cd's in the states that I didn't pay tax on (apart from Florida state tax) "new and used" is nmy best new friend .. Finally, after my really stressful weekend off line I finally logged in to find a plea for help from my lil Canadian friend finding she had made a supprise visit to our dull, grey, wintery shores :S bit of a shock tbh but its nice to know shes not the 4,000,000 million miles away now .. thought technically she has come at probably come at a pants time of year .. though at least we don't get down to -25 on winter nights .. so welcome to the tropics hun ... Now just to get over the peninines to visit

For now that is it .. Its coming up to Christmas so if I don't get round to a new journal before the big day I wanna wish all my fans a Merry Christmas and heres hoping that 2009 is A). better emotionally for Elandria and I and B). has better bloody weather so we can go and take pics

A grand weekend was had by all ....

Well the medi fayre is done and dusted for another year and . cos it was bloody expensie what with what I bought and for paying my way while down at ^Elandria's and cos I had a bloody excelent time meeting up with *Amazonofexeter and Lanny again .. I really enjoy spending time with good friends ..

Anyway .. I hope I have a barrel of new stained glass from our trips out to Tewksbury and Lichfield Cathedral and my visit back home to the lovely Hereford Cathedral ... Makes me wonder why I left it to live in the hell hole that is Wigan Oh and I got me some pics from the lil crypt there, so along with the pics from the crypt at Worcester Cath, that I forgot about I will try and get me some stock packs together for them soon

And on the whole knight stock front, little by little we are gettng there .. got me a helm a lil like this [link] so a few more bits and you will see me in front of the cammy (or :S) not sure how good that is but hell there you go ...

Erm thats really it atm .. Please take a look at the contest below I think its a really good one for D.A. and am looking forward to seeing some of the interpretations what with the Arthurian legend being based in a Saxon/Medieval setting really does sit with me well

Ok as said last weekends stock pack was a no goer cos I was getting my ass thrashed at Magic By both Lanny and her Fiance .. oh and having to listen to Amazons god aweful humour, and I thought I was abysmal,  But hopefully I shall be back on track for this weekend

Shit its cold :S ! ! ! !

Hello and too all those people out there who have an interest in walking around the streets looking like an extra in a Michael Jackson video ... A Happy Halloween or what ever else you wanna call it ... I have to admit, its scary how much over here is becoming like America in its attempt to catch up with your style of celebrating this time of year .. either that or the fact that Asda got bought out by Wal*Mart so we now get all the imported tat .. damn I'm cynical heh heh

OK as you may have noticed I have been putting up some new stock these last few weeks .. and as much as last weeks was late I am going to try and put up one pack a week (ok the packs so far have been just that as opposed to separates and a pack but usually textures and "new direction" packs normally don't appear as separates .. as much as I ask for input as to weather peeps want them that way).  I sorta get into feast or famine mode .. you never hear from me for like 3 months then I spam you with stock till your blue in the face :S

Oh and I wanna say goodbye to a dear friend [link] .. The north Wales council are moving in to demolish half of the abandoned mental hospital in north Wales and turn the rest into flats (now there's a topic for discussion LOL) and as a FUCKING IRRESPONSIBLE T.V. STUNT I hear they are allowing the Most Haunted team to burn down the hospital chapel as the final night of Most Haunted Live. I went there with ~luna-mora and ~valan back in the day and always wanted to try and convince ^Elandria to come some time (urbexing that is not to incarcerate her) but yeah .. the world is in a financial free fall and no body has the money but they still are demoing this once great building to put 2 bit flats in .. Oh and Yvette and Karl .. I know they are demoing the chapel anyway but is your bloody show that pathetic that you need to pull a stunt like burning it .. Ok off my soap box

Other than that I am seriously looking forward to next week as i get to see Lanny again after what seems to be a more stressful summer than last years oh and the medi fayre Woot ... Finally found Near Dark on dvd too but the bloody thing won't play after half way through on the house dvd for some reason :S need to sort that out ... Got me a really cool book on gothic archi and I hope it will help me with Max (3ds that is) .. but even so its a re-print of a book from 1847 so the intro is all in nice flowery Victorian its cool seeing the words we used to use.

Erm and yeah Its cold ... and Kat ! I know your in bloody Canada and have some remarkably chilly nights but I don't care .. I AM COLD ! ! ! ! lol

Well thats the update for now .. I know I had a soap box moment but I had too ..

As this is a fantasy/mythological contest, we don't want to see horror/macabre entries or anything too violent.
Any entries that fall into this category will not be entered.
If you use any stock, brush, texture etc resources from DA. Please remember to follow the providers rules.
The same applies to resources used from external sites.
You MUST provide the original artists details in your deviation description and put down that it is an entry for this contest.

Only one deviation per deviant - although you can still enter a non-competitive piece if you so wish

Well those who didn't know .. I IZ BACK ! ! ! !

Had a fab yet strange time while in the land of Mickey and Donald ... First the holiday was a bit of a weather war-zone, Hanna had battered the east coast of Florida the few days prior to our arrival, Gustav was spinning its merry way across the Gulf and Ike was trying to deside who it was gonna cause the most joy too .. As for Josephine, we won't go there, indecisive moo LOL .. Thanks to ~Belisse for the weather reports prior to the visit ...

As if that wasn't enuff, the damn airline company went bust while we were over there (Actually I was walking round the Saturn V  shed in Kennedy Space Centre when we were informed of this LOL, oh and the Saturn V is huge ) but we got home safe thanks to ATOL and Monarch

Got to mess with Gators, a few hawks (at Medi Times) the standard Florida lizard and we had a few visits from an armordillo to the villa complex where we were staying ....

Anyway .. I have some stock I am working on to put up a lil different for me so we shall have to see how it goes but I am really happy I got the stock in the first place ... So a few days please.

Oh and I found out the day after I landed that the nea Enigma Album is out [link] (they sneeked that out quietly LOL), and 4 days after I leave the US Collide release their new album too [link] suffice to say I have it ordered .. I am so excited .. Now we need some new stuff from TBM

I will update this later as Youtube has all the roller coasters that I went on so I plan on putting links in here so you can see .. but FJ's proxy don't allow me on YTube .. Oh and if your heading to Universal Islands of Adventure forget the Hulk and head straight for dueling dragons .. trust me you will NOT be dissapointed Oh and Sheikra at Busch Gardens is not as bad as you think .. the double vertical drop is kinda fun and not really that scarey

Hello and welcome to the annual "Caustic causes untold panic on D.A. journal" .. though this year it isn't panic stations, I think too many peeps know I am going to Florida for 2 weeks at the end of this week .. So I will be quiet .. not that I have been my usual barrel of scathing whit and repartee recently LOL ....

So news ...

Erm today is my birthday (thats the 3rd</b> of September .... not the 4th .. you know who you are ) and I do not have scad's of cards littering my door mat so what is everyone playing at .. You really don't like me that much ? lol

Its about 3-4 weeks on since the last journal and yep I STILL have the bloody cough .. I have taken 3 bottles of cough medicine (ok my doctor says they are worthless but they make it feel better for a while, I think it lines my throat with some radiant toxic goo LOL, well the last one was fluro red and supposedly tasted like Orange :S damn strange oranges at Asda), Echinacia (My dad swears by this stuff though for me its just vile tasting torture but with the above medicine is marginal, Anti-biotics, Ok only started 3 days ago but so far .. Nadda not worth jack, apart from the fact I can't drink and finally the best part of the medical cycle I have been eating Clementine's like they is going out of fashion now these DO taste like orange so I think I have something to compare the cough medicine with

Lanny ^Elandria ok I can't say you got my cough but you sounded really poorly on the phone the other day hun so disinfected hugs heading your way ...

Other news ... Got stung by a wasp the day I picked up my meds for the cough lil bastards lucky I aint anaphelactic or what not .. Oh and had a blood test and chest x-ray .. yeah I know .. for a cough ? well 8 weeks so go figure :S

There is a new living history fayre down in lannys garden (well not literally in her garden but I am sure she'd like it there) in Oct so I hope to be getting some new goodies and probably get the chance to get out and see some places with her then too ... Hope John can get up to see us and spend some money with us but there you go..

Oh and please dont mention Hannah :S

Well thats a bit of a ramble through my recent weeks of convalescence .. There really isn't much more to tell you though Lanny says I have loads to tell peeps about but I really am sure you don't wanna hear about my days at work and the new account I am working on would you ? though the town has a few very nice churches but nothing too easy to photo graph .. though I may try and get some more stained glass, and stone packs when I get back so bonus all round eh ?

Well I hope to have more to tell you about when I get back and I have been playing around in 3DS Max recently so I would really like to do some more digital work and get some "Art" up in time so you guys can see what else I can do

Why is life so poo ? .. LOL no sorry aint having a moan I have decided that it gets you no where but I just thought I'd bring you up to speed with life here at Caustic Towers.

After all the madness that 2008 has brought to me and my home life, I recently changed accounts at work .. I had to leave one of the most awesome teams that I had worked with in the 10 years of being employed by the company (more cos we lost the contract and the rest of the staff tupe'd out where as I stayed with the company), I was transferred to one of our Manchester offices, only to be transferred out to our Bolton Office (an account I had asked to go to 2 weeks prev and was told "therre was no chance of getting in there") .. and to top it all off I have had a cough for nearly 3 weeks ... ok Cough you say ? Get over it you girls blouse, you say ? try having a coughing fit for 1.5 hours at 2 in the morning to the point your coughing up blood and try that every night for 2 weeks .. not nice .. so yeah I think I am ill .. Oh and had a weekend visit from *Amazonofexeter in all this too so I could not leave him in the lurch so I had to haul my sickly ass out of bed each morning to take him round Tudor Mansion, Medieval fayres and Medieval castle towns .. Oh and city Centre Manchester ....

So erm what next .... FLORIDA in 3 weeks ! ! ! ! ! !

Well unless you have been on some other planet or you have been playing on your Wi, X-BOX or PS 3 then you may have noticed that I have been active again .. yay goes the collective crowd ... well I would like to think they do ...

Anyway ... Yep I am back .. though I seriously don't know if I am firing on all cylinders .. things are still rocky in my life for the mo and if I suddenly have a slip then I apologise to everyone out there, so some thing's will have to change round here for now

. . . . . I have actually been this far away from home but that's another story that the Kaiser Chiefs can answer for,  Any way the last journal opened with "Winter waves a final good bye as British Summer Time creeps slowly over the horizon" hoping that there was some nice weather on the way .. well so far every plan I have had (Medi faire, knightly combat day out) have all been scuppered by colds or nasty weather sods law I expect.  I have ideas aplenty, some local some a lil further afield, we just have to see what 2008 has in store for the weather of this sceptred isle.

So what else apart me making crappy excuses for the lack of new stock (ok I am lazy I have enough here to do a few packs that I will try and get out to you while its quiet here) ... Well I got round to posting my Medieval themed news article [link] so if you haven't been and taken a look then please there is some amazing medieval themed artwork, photography and stock out there on D.A. and its well worth you taking the time to look I am currently working on the plan for the next one .. should be here in about 2 weeks

Winter waves a final good bye as British Summer Time creeps slowly over the horizon (I say British Summer Time, I mean, when it rains instead of snow's and the temp's actually get above freezing during daylight hours)

I have been a lil lost over the last few months and the like but I think there is a light at the end of the tunnel (and I don't think its another lost soul with a torch) .. I really wanna thank my super cool friends for being there all the time for me .. with an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.

I'm posted a new news article - [link] - Ok its a second instalment of my links page so nothing new but go give it all your huggy love.  Also I am working on another news article that will appear in a few days or weeks LOL, a bit different from the last 2 but I am sure you will all be happy with it.

I have a few stock packs in the wings waiting and a few other things hanging around .. And I'm still working on a few more of the MTG ID cards as requested so don't worry I ain't forgotten I had a hard drive fail a few weeks ago and being off work 2 months I got a lil lazy and de-motivated ... Oooo I have a Medi Fair later this months too that I hope Lanny can make it up for, would be cool .. but if nothing else there is a repeat later in August .. so things are slowly coming together for the other plans ...
