Melrose Abbey, Border Country, Scotland

On an old jaunt up to the wee bonnie Scottish borders on a haggis hunting holiday we came across yon ruined church ... A few palms we crossed with gold at the wee shed outside so that I could share some nice picies with ya .. Ok sorry more Monastic goodness for you to use and abuse ... Enjoy

Does he go on about Haggis, the Viking hunting hamsters, in real life too? Or are we of the web just particularily blessed in that respect?

I like the flowers growing out of the cornices of the columns.

Are the naves just extra headstone-esque areas?

Scottish ruins seem to have been used as parochial churches of cemeteries after the reformation where as in the England and Wales they were sold to up coming land owners and thus ended up in private hands so yeah Scotland has a larger share of "cometary ruins" but I'm sure you know what naves are for in the proper use so won't go into that in detail here
